    Default Sending stuff to the states..

    Never done this before...help! Anyone used to shipping stuff and whose best to use. I need to send some luggage to America...

    I have sent art to america, hong kong and last week australia (framed) and use UPS or DHL

    But dont go direct, go via a third party like interparcel.com and register you get 5% discount. Its cheaper to go via interparcel as they buy slots apparently.

    You arrange time and date and they come round and pick it up, you can track it online and can be there the next day.

    Just pack it well

    Good advice above .... also dont be fooled by couriers transit liability insurance, it generally only pays out on weight and not true value. Take out proper insurance if the goods have any value

    Make sure, whoever you use, is not on RHA rates. Dependant on the value of the goods,depends on who you should use,high value, important goods, use Lemans. Cheap crap, use whoever is cheapest...........

    Oh blimey.... mine field. Thanks guys... be easier to pack the luggage and take it to miami myself ... hee hee now there's an idea (corr... can you imagine how much trouble i'd be in with the "Strad one"!! well he has Monaco - only fair)

    Take a look at www.parcel2go.com

    You need to be a little careful if they are personal effects (or not) for customs

    Thanks for your help guys. Interestingly the client sugessted Fed Ex (Quote was 1024) I could take it and myself for two nights for 620 !! All Sorted now with another courier.been an eye opener!
