    Default 360 oil leak

Had a cambelt service on my 360 6 weeks ago and not really used it much since. Drove home from the dealers (100 miles) and maybe 2 short trips since

I went back to the car after leaving it standing in the garage for about 3 weeks and there was a very small patch of oil pretty close to the small removable hatch in the undertray. I didn't notice it when I took the car out so I drove it for half an hour and I have left it parked outside for 2 days. I checked again today and there is nothing under it now but I can see some traces of oil in the undertray and it looks like there are some very small streaks on the underside of the undertray (only a couple of inches long)

Any ideas where to start looking? What is the most likely thing?

I am hoping it is an overfilled oil level or something simple (and cheap!)

    Thanks guys

Just taken her out to warm the engine and check the oil level. Everything is spot on and still nothing else under the car.

    Strange

I will have to try and find some ramps to get her up on and take a proper look underneath

Could be coming from anywhere! I had a similar problem which turned out to be the power steering pipe. I also had an RMS leak which was a whole other story, but until you get the under-tray off you won't know for sure. The under-tray can hold a lot of oil or it can be a minor drip that's found a gap in the tray, or even a bit of spillage from the service you had.

    Good luck!

Could be that the sump plug has been cross threaded - or the one from the gearbox. I'd have the undertrays off straight away to check this. If it's engine oil then you'll get a warning before things go horribly wrong but if it's coming from the gearbox the first you'll know is when your gears start crunching & then you'll be in for a 'box rebuild.

It was the crank oil seal. Pretty common fault I think

Doesn't look too tricky a job to get fixed

    Phew!!!!!!!

All sorted now and car is as good as new.

I got itchy feet in the week though and have swapped her in for a Nero 430 F1

Don't think I will be doing much sleeping between now and collecting the new beast later this week :-))
