    Default 348 won't start

Not used the 348 for a month but the battery has plenty of charge however when I went to it this evening it wouldn't turn over. Central locking works with enthusiasm and ignition lights are bright but when the key is turned, nothing, no dimming of ignition lights. No click at all. I'll have a look tomorrow but thought I would ask first for pointers. Was fine when I left it.

Charge your battery for an hour or so then try it again. As a guess you may have the have start problem which can be cured with a Bosch WR1 kit. My symptoms were now and again there wasn't even so much as a click out of the starter motor but all other electrics worked fine. Charging the battery for a while then retrying would have everything back to normal. My car starts much better after fitting one.

I paid 40 delivered from US for an "official" one but TBH you can make one yourself for about a tenner. Its just a relay and a 30amp fuse.

Fitting is easy and totally eversible...

NB If your battery is getting on it may be worth fitting a new one too.

I'll give it a go but I did put a start pack on the connections in the engine bay but still nothing. If I can find the starter fuse I'll try that first.

Charged the battery over night but still no joy so will look at the connections mentioned under the air box first tomorrow and the the power supply to the solenoid. Thanks for the links and I'll fit a relay too.

Thanks all for your advice. Had a think about it and ran a lead from the solenoid to the positive bus on the inner rear wing and she fired straight up. Started and stopped fine after that but proves its supply to the starter solenoid and a start relay would be the cure and of course clean of various connections now I can get the car home.

I got mine out of storage on Friday, where its been sat for about 5 months connected to an Accumate. I had to hold the key in the 'crank' position for approx 5-7 seconds before the started would engage...

I have had this before and basically the longer the car is left unused, the longer you have to hold the key turned to start it! If you leave it for a week, there is only a small delay until the starter kicks in... Its also worth me mentioning that i have a brand new ignition switch fitted to my car, so it cant be that that causes the issue.

Its never really bothered me to be honest, as it always starts.
