Default Any interest in production of some tricolour badges

    Hi,

I have been trying to source a tricoloure badge in Europe. The part is 84706300 ITALIAN FLAG BADGE (SHORT & WIDE).There is no stock and Ferrari have them on back order with no ETA. There are a few in the US at around $515 + shipping etc....

I have been investigating getting a replica made in the UK in hard enamel. The price for one is quite expensive due to the tooling cost but if I could order a few it is become reasonable.

If I ordered 5 they would be 100 ea.

    Any interest?

PS. Please note these will be a copy from drawings and measurements I have made from images on the net. I have supplied the correct RGB colour codes but I cannot comment on the overall production quality until they are made up.

I have agreed to go ahead with an order. The tooling is the most expensive part (over 300) so any more more interest would be great and drive the price down. Next they are going to produce real size drawings to size so I can do a final check.
They will be hard enamel, finest quality finish they do as it goes through a lot more polishing, frame will be chrome plated copper alloy.

    Delivery about 4/5 weeks

Dermot, try Ferrarichat as well. Their classifieds section is quite busy.

Be careful where you place it. A while back a guy produced a brilliant 430 badge like the scud badge but instead of scuderia it had the tricolour underneath. Looked brilliant BUT when placed on the challenge grill I think he had heat issues. Shame because it was a lovely alternative badge that may give you inspiration for your project Mark.

Just can't seem to find a picture

I had one of those "F430" badges on by F430. I sourced one from the DNA Owners Forum. Reading about the potential heat issue I put a small carbon backing plate on it and sprayed it with high temp clear coat and then polished it. Never had any problems.

I have posted on FChat regarding the "tricolour badge". There are some around in the US but they are silly money.
