    Default high oil pressure

Started my 360 up today. oil pressure gauge immediatly shot up to 70. went for a run and pressure rose to the 140 mark at just a reasonable speed. If I put my foot down the needle went up to its maximum. should I be worried or will it be something simple.
I would add that when stationary with the engine switched off the needle registers about a quarter of the way to the 70 mark so it might be the gauge?

When mine did that it turned out to be a fualty gauge... i was always told not to worry about high pressure, it was low pressure that one had to be concernd with..

On mine at the moment, it's only the edge of the bezel that's stopping the needle from moving further.

When warm, I currently have approx 170psi according to my gauge [emoji23] My indie is looking into it...

It's very probably the sender unit which is a fairly painless fix. We had ours changed a year or so and it immediately cured our sometimes erratic display on the gauge.

Same problem here. Getting the sender (and o-ring!) changed at the next service. Hopefully will sort it.

I fitted a new one several years ago....I think it is almost a service part.
The same sensor for other cars is about 20. Not a quality part!

The new sensor was 109.18 plus vat. Which come to think of it Is about 100 more than my mates 1997 Citroen XM is worth.

    I know.....I paid about 85 about 4 years ago.
A comparable sensor from the same supplier was about 20 but needed a bush to fit the 360 thread. It would have made no difference but I couldn't do it!
