I have been told by a local Indie that removing the resin/glue/epoxy is a right PITA.

I has to be done though otherwise the circlips don’t seat properly.
A set of dental picks is the best I’ve got but it is very hard to clean out....

Had this on another car, and dental pick type tool was the best I could do. Took time, and easy to scratch the aluminium.

My "dental pick" type tool was in fact a bent watchmakers screwdriver! Not pretty by any measure but did the job.

In the end a reasonably small flat bladed driver side on did the trick.

Nearside all finished tonight just the ARB and drop links to fit in the morning as I need to do that outside.



The ARB was pretty scabby on the ends so I had it blasted and powder coated.

I found a great little metal finisher called Cheshire Classic and Custom near Tarporley. Highly recommended.
I’d picked up some air box covers a couple of years back so threw them in the car also...
The guy took real care with them after my last issue with powder coating and they came out great considering they were really tatty going in.
I’m dropping my 250 LC heads and barrels in for powder coating next.

It slightly bugged me that the calliper bolts aren’t painted, so another concours point dropped by colour matching them to the calipers

I set the new spring (white code) compression to a mill or two less than the old one (yellow) but forgot to take an after pic.

All finished....

Looks similar to what I have in my garage Mike. I always made sure the work area was at the front of the garage so you had the entrance/ourtside to manoeuvre if required.

Putting the wheels back on was fun though with such little room to get your body behind to lift.

Roll bar goes in from the RH side quite easily especially is you have both sides of the car off the ground to access the space behind the front boot.



No need to damage the £100 damp membrane! Removing the boot liner lets a lot of light through which helps.
