This is the Machynlleth mountain road, which you get on to from the B4518 from Llanidloes. Combined, they make, IMO, one of the top 3 driving roads in Wales, along with one of the best views in Wales.

Also on this road is the Star inn, Dylife, where we had the buffet on this years Welsh Weeknder

The viewing point to the left of the car in the last picture is the memorial for Wynford Vaughan Thomas, the broadcaster / journalist, who during WW2 famously reported from on board a Lancaster during a bombing raid over Berlin and also from Belsen.

Great pics Mike.....you are very lucky living close to this.

We can’t get enough. Back on Friday for the weekend, staying near Elan village in the van.

Thanks Mike - I think the same!

If you want to wander for a couple of hours over the weekend, Abergwesyn pass and on to Llyn Brianne drive is also stunning and not far from Elan: https://goo.gl/maps/YHve1V9FMLF2 . Not a 'Ferrari' road but very scenic (tho' I have done it twice in the 430 on a charity run )

Not sure what's planned for the weekend yet, but if I'm up that way I'll give you a shout. You can have a go in the 458 like Andy did
