Default Club Scud Autumn Weekender I

I thought Id start a new thread for a potential autumn meet.

As mentioned on the WW thread we could look for somewhere central but that would probably mean more of a tour than the WW or a Scottish Highlands trip would allow.
Im happy to do a lot of the legwork but would need some help with the local planning depending on where we end up.

Its best to start with someone suggesting a date so Id suggest September 15th/16th (or maybe the following weekend). I cant do the 8th/9th but it also clashes with the Revival.

If we are fairly central it could be a weekend or a day trip and Id suggest we try to build it around a visit of somewhere interesting. The Yorkshire Dales/Forrest of Bowland areas are stunning but Id guess a 250 - 300 mile run to the start for many who attended the WW. Cotswolds/North Wessex Downs would be most central and probably allow some to attend either day so I'd start on that basis.

    So ideas on a postcard

    Ill start a list..

I would suggest doing this as a day event. Cotswolds is sort of central so may be in range for day tripers who might not want to do any overnight stop. I would also suggest Dick Lovetts in Swindon as the start point, then head out from there. Its just off the M4 so easy to get to and if thats where we want to start I am happy to ask Lovetts if they will "host" our start and get a look round their fab showroom etc.

I know the cotswolds fairly well so am happy to help plan a route and a nice lunch stop venue.

Now that won't do, we must have a few beers after a days driving Could just have the planned route for Saturday and folk could make their own way home Sunday?

Agreed, I'm going to make a call to the Lower Slaughter Inn, we stayed there with 10 Ferraris a few Years ago and they were fantastic, passed the car park test too MikeM

I'll also dig out our original routes, we found some very good roads and lunch stops

Add me in ; none earsplitting 348!!

    Ideas:
Dick Lovett is good, Andy can pick up his new 458 !!!
Av8 cafe in Kemble airfield for a pit stop, car clubs are welcome there
Classic car hub, they will cater for clubs specifically.
Prescott hill climb/Bugatti owners club, cars and coffee on the Sunday morning. Very civilised venue.
Could do a bit of Salisbury plain for a chance at some open roads? But that would be south.
Doesnt appear to be anything on at castle coombe that Sunday; bit of track time? (No idea how/how much/feasibility etc, just a thought)
Hotels, I only know around my patch, j17 m4; we just dont get out much!!!!

Happy to help / go with the flow
