Default 458 front reg plate size?

    Hi there

I want to get a front plate for my 458, so the Police don't take offence and fine me upto £1000 for not displaying a plate.

I've seen some 458's that seem to have a plate that just fits in in the front, does anyone know the dimensions or have alternate solutions please?

Mine's a 3/4 size from Fancyplates.com. Arguably it's a better situation to run without one as it's only a fine whereas a wrong size or mis-spaced plate is a fine and points

Thanks, is that stuck in there with sticky pads or just wedged in and interference fit?

Also regarding no plate or incorrect sized plate, the plod cannot give you points, it is merely a fine for either at upto £1000, but typically they let you off or hit you with £100.

Astounding. No plate is better than some plate

I'm guessing though, some plate is less likely to attract the long arm of the law than no plate.

Last year at the end of the Welsh run we attracted some close police attention "in a good way" and they didn't mention any front plate anomalies, and there were a few.

But I have read on Pistonheads that police have targeted such gatherings enforcing number plate regulations.

They are because ANPR doesn’t work without one. Legislation change on the way I am told...

I've also got a Carbonio plate with a reduced size number plate on it. I rarely fit it but carry it with me in the car so it can be quickly placed on the front if needed.
