    Default 360 , and 430 aftermarket exhausts

My new ( to me) 360 arrived with an aftermarket exhaust, beautifully made but with no evidence of any heat insulation. Whether the heat comes from the exhaust or the cats or the manifolds ( standard) or the whole lot together, but the rear deck of the car gets too hot to do more than briefly touch. I dont have the Scuderia rear panel.

So, do the normal non standard exhausts from the likes of Tubi, Larini etc have heat insulation?

I have a Tubi on my Spider and it doesn't have any additional heat shielding, I do have a Challenge grill tho, it still gets hot on there..

Had it long? I cant see any risk of things like fire but I cant imagine the paint on the deck lasting well at the temperature it gets to. or rubber bits in the engine bay.

I had a tubi on a previous 360 which did generate enough heat to eventually burn the bumper from the inside out.

You could buy a challenge grille and the CS exhaust heat insulation material for the deck lid underside (part #68153200).

Even my stock exhaust - which has recently been repacked - chucks out a fair amount of heat. Certainly not enough that you can't touch the engine lid (unless you're doing something like the supercar weekend) - but it definitely does get warm. I've often thought I should get a challenge grill, but have never been able to justify the cost.

Admittedly our standard set up makes the rear hatch very hot after a run. You wouldn't want to rest your hands on there for too long.

After market on mine (no idea of the make). I can't say I've ever noticed the hatch too hot to touch. Not sure I've ever tried though.

Interesting comment about the insulation. Does anyone reading have a stradale and could they post a photo of the insulation please

Not sure it would work for me - my car is a spider.

Are you all talking about the internal heat insulation?

The Stradale probably has it as it's similar to the 430 exhaust which has that awful white stuff that turns to powder.
