What are the choice spark plugs for a 2.7 car? The WSM shows RG2 PHP (cannot find those on the Champion site) but what is the latest/best to use? Thanks.

Spark plugs can be a personal thing, since the RG2 PHP plug Ferrari have gone over to NGK (PMR7A) plugs.

I've always rated and used NGK's,will check that the PMR7A is the right plug for the 355 for you tomorrow.
I'm sure it will be if Malcolm has recommended it.

Thanks Steve. BTW car bits all over the house at the moment, lots of fun.

Thanks all for the info, just one problem. Is there a special technique to remove the plug caps from the plugs, boy are they tight. I have soacked them with WD40 and have become a little looser but refusing to "pop" off. Am I missing something? Perhaps I should let them soak overnight?

I can answer that question myself now - soak it (then sponge up the excess) for a while then use a blunt rounded screwdriver as a lever with support from two fingers at the other side, rock and prise out. Very tight seemingly caused by a dry rubber cap in aluminium plug recess. The plug came out easy and was a NGK PMR7A.
Just got one out tonight, will leave the rest for another day when my fingers and thumbs have recovered.

Have a look here http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/
Don't know if you have priced new plugs but these seem quite reasonable and with free delivery.
they list the 355 plugs at £10.47 ea plus vat,I checked this morning and my NGK supplier could only do them to me at £10.18 plus vat ea.

Steve, Thanks for the info. We have an account at Maccess in Trafford Park and I got the plugs there for £7.46 plus VAT. They only had 4 so will need to go back next week for the other 4. Seems like a cheaper trade outlet for quite a few things auto related so may be worth a look if you haven't used them before. Cheers

That is cheap,I do have an account with Maccess but don't tend use them that often now as they seem to have gone more into selling air fresheners and wheel trims these days:grin:maybe it's time to give them another go.

Still lots of air freshners and wheels trim. They have a good stock of paints, polish, clutches, brake pads etc but don't seem to stock Ferodo. Lots of tools and oil, worth a look I would suggest.
