Dear Members,
You may recall the following committee post asking members to nominate suitable charities for Club Scud to adopt in 2010?:
http://www.officeforexperts.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=539443&postcount=1
From this request came my proposal:
http://www.officeforexperts.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=553753&postcount=1
Which was agreed here subject to a suitable event being organised:

Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the Indy Circuit at Brands Hatch has been booked for Monday the 8th November 2010 by Gary Eastwood for us to give rides to injured servicemen and their carers.
Here are the details:
Charity supporting: Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
Groups giving rides to: Injured servicemen & women from all branches of the forces plus members of; The Not Forgotten, Blesma, Headley Court, Haslar Co. etc.
Venue: Brands Hatch, Kent.
Date: Monday 8th November 2010.
Time: All day, likely starting at 9am.
Format: Open Pit lane, max 20 car at a time.
Noise: Usual weekday, so 105db.
Cost to subscribed Club Scud members: £0
Places available to Club Scud on track: 15 to 20:
Insurance: Track / pit organised by MSV so your insurance company will recognise them.
Club Scud members: ALL members welcome to be there on the day whether driving or not.
Unlike other events such as Dunsfold or Littlehavens, we're not going to open the list up on a "first come, first served" basis. The reasoning for this is as follows:
1. We'd like to have a broad selection of cars as we envisage each attendee taking 4 or 5 trips out in different cars. So unfortunately there won't be 10 GT4's there.
2. We want drivers who have some track experience as the safety of the passengers is paramount. Unlike the relative ease of Dunsfold or Dunton, the Indy Circuit at Brands can be tricky as anyone will know having gone down Paddock Hill for the first time!
Please therefore PM me with the details of your car and what level of track experience you have if you would like to take part in the day.
Gary has arranged for Bute Motorsport to be there (who run his 430C) and Darren Turner in an Aston Martin. I understand there will be some Lotus's to drive round too.
Although the earlier date at Silverstone didn't come off, this day has all the makings of being a fantastic event for Club Scud members and more importantly a whole load of fun for the servicemen and their carers who deserve it IMO.
Many thanks,
Richard (rmdferrari)
