F355 with fiorano handling pack

hi all.

having been without a Ferrari for a while, i am yearning for another F355.

i have heard that there was about 16 official UK imports of 355's with the fiorano handling pack all in the last year of production in '99.

can anyone offer any information if it is worth sourcing one of these...is there much difference as apposed to a normal 355? i appreciate there is a big debate with regards to the 575 having the handling pack, but doesn't seem to be much information on the 355, or indeed many coming out of the woodwork for sale...

are there any owners out there?!

any advice much appreciated.

Don't think I have ever seen any for sale, if indeed they exist.

hi there.

yes, they definately exist, and 14 was the amount imported.. was a near 10k option!
i have manged to research numbers of each variant etc, just would like to of heard as much about them as possible from any owners etc:hmmm:

many thanks for the link jos!

Just to let you know I have a '99 F1 Spider with Fiorano handling kit so there's at least one spider in rhd.

Hi Iain,

the fiorano handling cars are lower, have a quick steering rack, thicker anti roll bar, the ECU runs the 355 challenge settings in sport mode, have red calipers and cross drilled discs.

Yes it does feel different to the standard, mainly due to steering and also a noticeable difference in the suspension settings when the sport mode is engaged. Having said that its not a huge difference overall but it is enough that I would miss it if I had a standard car. I got mine in 2003 and it took a long time to find one, especially one in manual as I really didn't like the F1 box and I think most were ordered with F1.

Good luck in your search.

Philip

hi Philip.

many thanks for your reply and information!
i had a 355 spider before, and wanted to get back into one, however, i wanted to source one of these rare beasts.. i collect my rosso 355 manual spider with the fiorano pack next thursday!
incase you were unaware, and contrary to my earlier posts, there were only 16 officially imported and the split is ( and i must say many thanks to jonathan for the info ):

F355 Berlinetta - 1 in Rosso Corsa, 1 in Blu Tour de France
F355 Spider - 1 in Rosso Corsa
F355 F1 Berlinetta - 1 in Rosso Corsa, 1 in Blu Tour de France
F355 F1 GTS - 3 in Rosso Corsa, 1 in Yellow, 2 in Black
F355 F1 Spider - 4 in Rosso Corsa, 1 in Blu Tour de France

after a long time i have manged to secure the only manual spider imported, and verified it was genuine with the chassis number..

i cannot wait for this time next week!
which one do you have?!

kind regards

iain

Hello all, quick question from an F car virgin popping my cherry tommorrow. If you go to a dealer with a chassis number can they search and tell you the original build spec? Just curious as I'm buying a 99 spider F1 in Rosso, and it has red calipers with cross drilled discs and am just wondering lol!

Mine is f1 berlinetta in rosso corsa with fhp. Car feels very different to standard. I think many of the cars were also spec'd with sports seats.

Yes. A main dealer can look the car up for you.

Hi i cannot believe that there was only one rosso corsa F1 B imported, if so it was mine new reg 1998 from Maranello sales with beige interior, the Ferrari was owned by me for about 8 years i think and had reg number 11 KOU then changed on sale to S 8** FYG, i sold the Ferrari to Chris Woods.

From new it had the FHP and F1 options and i later had the Challenge grill installed, had about 26k miles when i sold it and apart from regular service the only main part that failed was one exhaust manifold at around 22k miles.

If you are interested i still have the original rear panel with prancing horse in excellent condition was going to advertise for sale but will wait to see if you are interested, have loads of photos as well when it was new and it was included on a video that fuzz head Clarkson made about the Ferrari Marque.

I see that you are in Essex same place as where the car was for the first 8 years of its life, i am surprised that i have not seen it around

Mine was supplied by Lancaster Colchester. Is f1 b Rosso corsa with black leather and Bordeaux carpets. From new it had fiorano handling pack, challenge grill, carbon sports seats, leather headlining. Car is a 1998. Incidentally when I was researching fhp cars I was told there were 11 f1 b with pack. I am the 3rd owner.

Yes you can, the Red calis and drilled discs would indicate FHK but not guaranteed without factory check.
