F430 Clutch replacement cost

As an indication....

Supercarhub have prices from 1.9k to 2.5k for 430 clutch. Cheapest is Graypaul Nottingham for my postcode.

M

Depending on the age of the car I'd go to an independent. I had a clutch put in a 360 by an inde for about 2/3 of the price of the main dealer.

It says inc. VAT on the schedule......

Agree, that will be the minimum and anything else (release bearing, flange etc) will be on top.

Be very clear with what is being fitted, I had a quote a couple of years back that seemed quite a bit cheaper than other indies, when questioned all they were going to change was the clutch disc itself :thumbsdow

When talking over running cost with my indie on the 430 they told me to budget at around £1900+vat (£1300+vat for the clutch, £600+vat fitting) for a straightforward clutch change, with an additional £300+vat for a Hill Engineering release bearing & £770+vat for a flywheel if they were required when the gearbox was removed,

exactly , flywheel/bearing and vat on top ! think my 360 was close to 3k inclusive of all that

As you'd expect we carry lots of prices etc, so the average across the Dealers for an F430 is £ 2,162 Inc Vat:thumbsup:

Yep thats for the clutch and fitting inc vat. As for the flywheel & bearing, what we would advice our users to do, would be to use the call back form for each Dealer (ie more than one) - you only need to enter your details once, the system automatically populates for each form thereafter, that way you'll have a comparison of prices inc Flywheel/Bearing.

Would it be possible for someone to explain why a Ferrari(Say 430) clutch wear out?

Before I get the stupid answers, I would not expect an Audi RS4 to burn it's clutch out, either the Manual B7 version or the latest B8 dual clutch version, for close to 100k miles.

Are the Ferrari clutches very small/thin/poorly designed ?? what is it?

From what I understand 18k miles and you are doing well.

Thanks

Good question!

It's not totally fair to compare an F430 with the latest Audi clutches as they use wet clutch transmissions. The Cali/458 use wet clutches and they are supposed to last 'forever' also.

I must admit I was surprised when I started looking seriously at F Cars how short the life of F1 clutches can be. IMO 50k miles should be the minimum design life.
