Ferrari Luce EV

Forced to write something. In house Ferrari styling aided by iPhone 🤣. Should never have split from Pininfarina who I bet are pissiing themselves with laughter today. Bodes well financially for anyone with a beauty.

I thought Ferraris were supposed to look like Sophia Loren, not Kiera Knightley.

Only just seen it. What in the world were they thinking!

I have literally never seen a Ferrari that looks that bad. The front looks like they took deisn cues from a whale shark, the rear appears to have another car (hopefully a better looking one) parked inside it and the rear doors opening backwards seem like it's taken from the design of an SUV. Inside the dash looks stuck on and the large ipad finishes that look perfectly.

When you think of all the stunning cars they have made over the years it's simply tragic they have come up with such an aweful looking car.

I'm clearly not alone in my thought looking at the value of Ferrari stock. This is a home goal almost matching Jaguar's recent ad campaign.

The people running Ferrari now must be complete and utter idiots. By all mean make an EV but don't make it hideous. How hard can that be?!?!?!

Edit: It actually get's better - Ferrari's own chief marketing officer's advice to current and past Ferrari owners is NOT to buy a Ferrari Luce. The mind boggles......

I thought it was a joke and that the car was a Nissan when I first saw it. Apparently one of the designers from Apple was involved and it looks like a phone from the top view.

Looks like someone (hopefully) will get fired over this.

Yep they got the guy who designed the iphone to design it.

Have you heard about firings of is this just an educated guess?

Good news if you have a beautiful Ferrari *
Good news if you have a lower tech tending analog Ferrari too .

* Subjective I know .

Well Enzo past away in 1988 , so it’s taken 38 yrs to trash his brand .

Colin chapmans road cars still retain his ethos of lightness …..and they are still beautiful.

CEO of Lamborghini has today announced glad they dropped / binned there EV program , responding to the Luce .

That's really taking the opportunity to plunge the knife in and I can't blame him.

Wouldn't it be a breath of fresh air if Ferrari stood up and said we got that totally wrong and redesigned it. I guess the problem is if they do they will be seen as idiots....... and if they don't they will be seen as idiots.

Won't happen but I actually think it's so wide of the mark someone extremely high up should say it was my call and fall on their sword. If they're going to make desisions like this Ferrari is quite clearly better off without them.

You are right, it's never going to happen because of pride. Imo, Benedetto Vigna should step down and let Piero Ferrari take over the reigns. That would restore some faith in the company (in my eyes). This way, the company could perhaps return to it's original vision of providing luxury customer service first, rather than the coercive tactics that it now employs.

Hopefully the vicious market backlash, which can't be ignored, will be the prevailing factor.

Regardless, I agree, I think it's great news for most subscribers to this forum.

I think you're spot on. In fact I saw a video that shows just how far this went with the Luce and why so many 'content creators' are falling short of saying really negative things about it, instead using words like "Contraversial" and "Bold". Like him or not I think Shmee is saying what a lot of them lack the backbone to say, even though he knows as a buyer of new Ferraris and a regular invitee to their press releases it's going to come back to bite him:

I think the video I've seen that says it best though isn't from a car enthusiast but rather a design guy. It just popped up on my feed but I watched it and he really does hit the nail on the head with what's wrong about the Luce. The bottom line is they got entirely the wrong guy to design it - Jony Ives - and that he entirely missed the point of a Ferrari and essentially designed it like an appliance. Actually a pretty interesting watch:

I agree with your points, and I don't like the Luce - but you can't hold Lotus up as an example, they're trying to sell a 2.5 ton EV SUV...

I applaud Schmee for speaking his mind despite the dreaded Ferrari backlash.

You know, more than anything this makes me feel disappointed and sad. Ferrari, for a long, long time made the most beautiful cars in this world. They've fallen foul of appeasing social media over ethics (which is also something I can say about politics today). What I would not give to reverse time, then I am getting on fair bit šŸ˜
