    Default New Jaguar XF

    Hi Guys,

    What does everyone think?

I know some people have slated it elsewhere, but i reckon until its seen in the flesh it deserves a fair hearing, after all, its make or break time for the Company! I personally think it looks quite smart!

Early days but the middle section looks unchanged from the S type and the nose looks like its been grafted on from one of those small Dodge people carrier things with the lights off a Passat

I have to agree with Nikue. It lacks the flair of the concept and why did they ditch the concepts headlights for items which wouldn't look out of place on a Hyundai? IMHO this decision has transformed a purposeful looking front into a bland, unappealing one. It appears that Jaguar's management really has taken on board the disastrous sales in the US of the retro S type and tried to ape the design of cars that do sell there. This car could have had a Lexus, Accura, Infinity or even Ford badge stuck on it and you'd not question where it had come from as there is no real tell tale design cues on it. I doubt it will prove to be the saviour of the marque unfortunately as it just does not look distinctive enough next to its rivals, nor does it look particularly "British" which may handicap much needed US export sales.

If German ownership of Bentley, Mini and Rolls Royce can produce convincing modern interpretations of British icons why can't Ford hit the spot with Jaguar? It would be interesting to see what designs came out of Castle Bromwich in 5 or 6 years time in the extremely unlikely event that BMW or VW gained control of Jaguar.

When I saw the concept I thought that this would be a potential car for me. Not all more . Very disappointing.

I guess at least its got people talking! Apparently they had to change the headlights from the original concept due to technological and safety legislation....
