    Default F50 Soft Top

I have never seen a picture of an F50 with a canvas hood - pic from Goodwood yesterday.

Anyone know more about the fixing of the hood ? Any idea of the speed you can drive at with it up or is it as useless as the Murci one ?

the soft top's actually an easy job for two- it fits in behind driver's head like the old targa panel on 964 porsche - 3 pegs and couple of levers to lock into place. Says not safe for use above 80mph iirc

Thanks Tony - not opened pics but I am sure I remember thread from the good old days - silver F50 IIRC.

Not being a Porsche fan at all I have no idea of the analogy to the 964 - are you saying 5 mins or less as a 2 handed job ?

I am in the minority that love the F50 - but then I am a sucker for convertbles - seriously had never realised it came with the rag top as well as the hard top - now if the bl**dy property market could just sort itself out !!

According to someone I know who has one, it takes 2 to 3 hours to put the hardtop on.

Yes, 2-3 hours and it is a two man job. You have to remove the roll hoops and the rear deck quarter panel then fit the hard top on in its place.

The emergency soft top takes 5 minutes and can be done by one person. It is really only safe at speed up to 50 mph.
