    Default 512 TR Performance.........

How does the 512 TR compare with the 360 Modena or F355 on straight line performance.

I know what the performance figures suggest but we all know that they don't really mean a lot in the real world.

Has anybody had first hand experience or had any of the above cars to know how they compare ?

Those F355 stats must be for a 2.7 Motronic car - I've had plenty of runs in my 348 upto 150 mph against both my mates De Catted 5.2 F355s and find no differences in performance.

The 355 is a very quick car but find it hard to believe that it would be faster than a 12 cylinder TR based how quick my 348 is against one.

Someone off the link above has owned all 3 and says the TR is the quickest - i would believe the owners views over Autocars biased views

Knowing how much sheer grunt torque the Testarossa has I find it hard to believe that it is beaten in the mid range high gear times.

    Dear Comrade philworrall,

I too have my doubts as to the veracity of the figures. There's not much that will stay with a flat twleve once it starts hurling out its torque in great big dollops. For example, in the real world, out on the road, a TR will leave a standard entry-level 430 standing.

    With kind regards,

    Testerosser

I'd say that was a driver rather than a car issue
