    Default My 355 project.

After three years without a Ferrari following selling my 360 I came very close to buying a 430 spider and even a mint 355. By chance I came across a 355 spider project car and I have now purchased this.

The inspiration came from watching Terry's work over the years on his 355. I have to say the purchase is the easiest part most intimidating part is prioritising what needs doing and in what order and the potential cost.

This stage I am now is due diligence, and I bought a money pit, can I realistically do the work required, do I have the knowledge and ability to do the work required and most importantly do I have the strength of character to see the project through or will this be another half finished project for sale on eBay at sometime in the future.

To be honest I am not sure of the above, over the next few weeks I will make these decisions.

I have to say that the threads on this site and in particular Terry's fantastic documented refurbishments and pictorial story make some of the more complex jobs less frightening to approach.

I would like to do the same as Terry and to be honest I don't think I have the ability to provide the detail and pictures that Terry does as well as do the work to a reasonable standard as opposed to a Terry finish.

I will keep you posted on whether I lose my bottle or I actually decide to undertake this project and see it through.

Congrats Simon. Often the most daunting task is thinking about it. Get stuck in and you'll be fine.

Me to Tony, Whenever I drive down the M11 I always remember that sunny day when we been out from major blast with that crowd of Ferraris that I once had on the CD but I have now lost disappointingly, I still remember that day and I always think of it on the M11.

I am afraid 355 just get under my skin that's why is the third one I've owned.

Really looking forward to seeing and reading all about your project.

I will be happy to help where I can, I am sure everyone here will offer various types of motivation to keep you going.

Not sure of the scope of your project but will look forward to some photographs of the before condition so we can see the progress and be a part of your project.

Could it be possible to beat irarref and his 96 pages of 348 restoration?
