f430 exhaust manifold blowing

good day i hope someone can help with some advice,

i have a 07 F430 in for service at moment at a northern uk main Ferrari dealer it has covered 2200 miles in the year i have had the car and 10200 in total

car was purchased almost a year ago from same dealer with full 2 year uesd warrenty it has gone back to them for its MOT and anual service

they call me today to say the exhaust manifold is blowing and should be replaced and cost inc labour and vat is £ 6500. 00 aprox.

they are going to make a good will claim my question is will it good will claim be successful as i have read a lot about this problem, and is the cost the dealer gave me correct ?


if i have to pay for this repair, what options do i have

any advice please ??

If you claim fails then you can repair them at a fraction of the cost, let me know if your claim fails.

£6500? Doesn't sound right to me but then again I'm no tech guru

My 06 430 manifolds went last year and I had power normal warranty. Dealer supplied and fitted with goodwill. I just paid the labour. I have heard some have paid nothing in these situations while some have had to pay it all.

FYI my manifolds were under £3k if I had to pay the lot

I had a goodwill replacement.( not covered under the warrenty.)
Your quote is on par with the main dealer quote I had,should the good will of failed.
I think you should be ok,as this is clearly a known fualt,and they are not fit for purpose.

successful goodwill claim for me too, didn't cost me a penny.

just heard from dealer and the the answer from ferrari is " no good will claim "

any advise as dealer has told me that i cant drive the car as it could blow engine

what alternative have a got but to pay

Can someone explain why this is not covered under a Ferrari main dealer warranty? It is not a wear and tear item surely? Do other third party warranties cover this sort of component failure?

By the way, for clarity, I don't own a Ferrari (yet) but am an avid reader of the Forum in preparation for eventual ownership!

Why not upgrade to a set of capristo manifolds rather than the flawed version from Ferrari at what i'm sure would be a fraction of a cost

I don't want to take this too far off topic but these warranties tend to exclude exhaust systems generally grouping them in with tyres brakes etc
