Default 360 corroded wing mirror mounts

Anyone got an alternative to getting them taken off, refinished and respayed. Quite expensive process. Are there any reasonably priced aftermarket mounts eg in carbon fibre to stop the problem recurring? The wing mirrors themselves are fine.
    Thanks

I ended up getting them refinished, but as part of a repaint of the front end which made it more cost effective

Did you remove them yourself? it seems that the tweeter and the panel inside the car just pull of and this exposes the 3 screws that hold the mirror and outer trim in place and that as long as you don't drop the screws then there's no need to remove the door card, is it this simple, also does anyone know what he correct black paint is.

No I didn't. I expext there may be some wiring to the motor that moves the mirror to deal with as well.

The wiring is just a simple plug and socket but if memory serves, you cant get at the socket without removing the door card. That isnt so difficult - its re-installing it that is a PITA.

As for the paint, Halfords Satin black was a match
