Also good news knowing repairs can be carried out successfully. Its probably only a matter of time for the rest of us! . Thanks Nick.
Simple enough job to replace the phase sensor. No fault with it only that its its old. Connectors have been known to crumble.
The sensor is mounted in the housing on the back of the 1-4 bank inlet cam. Easier access with the airbox removed. Unplug the wiring loom on the LHS. Three 8mm nuts secure the housing and one 8mm nut for the wiring clamp . Oil can leak into the housing from the seal at the back of the camshaft so if present the seal should be replaced. The housing is nice and clean here. There is a timing disc on the back of the cam held by three screws and located on a dowel for correct orientation. The sensor is secured to its mount by two 3mm Allen bolts. All pretty simple and strait forward reassembly.

If anybody is after O2 sensors the order I put into eurocar parts has worked a treat! Bosch sensors turned up; £50 each shipped with their latest discount code! Much better than all the normal sources for Ferrari parts at circa £200 each.
I even popped Ferrari 348 in as the make and model. I did cross check the part number against the Volvo that has the equivalent sensor to double check I was ordering the correct part.
Happy days![]()
