308 bare metal respray - costs?

This guy used to be a Forum sponsor in the early days and was doing a lot of jobs for people on here at the £2.5K discounted price. It was supposed to be a members offer but it looked more like he was rapidly trying to build his business in repainting exotic cars.

If i remember correctly many CS members who used him had quality "issues" and he eventually dissappeared from the forum.

I had 2 jobs done by Alun @ alsa, Escort RS Cosworth and a 348, still have both cars and they are as good as they day he did them.

I have got quite a lot of experience with paint shops, most of it has been very bad! Alun had a totally different approach.

His "disappearance" was partly due to my 348 and the connection with a Mod at the time, there was quite a lot of "stuff" going on, but that is best left in the past.

I did see some posts where some members had some issues with some of work but i think Alun had left the forum by then so there was no reply from him.

Paint work is a very hard to quote for as you dont know what is lurking under the old paint.

I can tell you though the difference in price between a ok job and a flawless job is vast! in my experience

True Francis but unlike that lovely 365 in the latest Ferrari mag mine has long since lost its original paint, there are traces of over spray and as each panel has a paint/corrosion fault then a full respray is the best solution.

Very true. I'd imagine a good proportion of this is the Ferrari tax. There's little reason it should cost more than your Fiesta if the finish is as good as you say.

Why traces of overspray? To be fair, that is just poor/cheap workmanship.
