    Hate this.

512 is my dream car and to see one just rotting away completely neglected is gutting!

Hopefully the owner will let it go!

Wow, sad to see but hey, it's his car and who are we to tell him what to do with it. Although it's a shame it couldn't find its way onto a trailer in the middle of the night!.

I was surprised at the comments for the video though. Typical social media, plenty of hate

One comment was king for me though - so the alternative is it gets restored then sits unused... (Not by Scott but that'd generally be the case).

    Default 512

Just stunning, even covered in dirt. I could stare at it all day.

Absolutely gorgeous and a real disgrace all at the same time!

Some folk in life really don't deserve to have the things they do.

Shameful that such a car could be left to rot, literally!

That 512 lives a few mins drive away from me. Scott joins the very very long list of people who have tried to buy the car. It used to have a cover for protection but the local yobs from the next door estate just stole the cover.

From memory It was purchased from Dick Lovetts and yes it was just driven onto the drive in perfect condition and just left. It used to be on a trickle charger and was occasionally started up. It used to look like it could be cleaned serviced and driven but now the rot has set in and it would probably cost a fortune to renovate.

The guy who owns it knows that it was worth serious money, but he is a nut case and will NEVER sell it. It hasnt moved for years and I bet it wont until the current owner passes away ..... then I can have it for scrap value

Here is a picture from years ago when it was in better condition, and from memory it used to share the drive with another sports car might have been a Lotus Esprit.

None of this was as interesting as the falling down lock up garages I discovered that were full of 1960's single seater racers and an AC with a V8 engine . Not sure if it was a pucker Cobra, as it had a lotus single seater chassis plonked on top of it !!! Needless to say the owner was a proper get off my land total nut case and he wouldnt sell any of them as he told me they were worth lots of money !!

We've all seen these things before. I tried to buy a Lotus Esprit back in the early 90s from a guy who was convinced he'd one day 'do it up and sell it' as it gradually turned greener after spending years never moving on his drive. I used to know a local guy who had many classic muscle cars including THREE rare mid-sixties Pontiac GTOs, a Plymouth Road Runner and other treasures slowly sinking into the earth of his back garden. It's such a shame to see but we should never say people don't deserve them. Each to his own, however sad and frustrating it is for us to see. I imagine the stories are all the same though - "one day I plan to get it going again..."
