F430 Anti Roll bar Bushes

Where on earth does Ferrari get its pricing from? Anti roll bar bushes over £20 plus VAT each for a bit of rubber. Most cars seem to be around £5-10.

I have no beef with the place I ordered them as they are great and fast and reliable.

How many times do we have to do this?


It’s basic accounting 101 economies of scale.

You are Volkswagen you buy rubber bushes by the million you pay €1 each

You are Ferrari you buy them by the thousands you pay €10 each.

As an OEM you have to have a certain amount of stock holding so that’s what you buy in bright yellow boxes to keep lit, warm and dry until enough owners actually drive the cars and need spares.

Meanwhile because no one drives them lots of your spares end up being looked after for years ensuring the warehouses racks up lots of heating and lighting overhead to add to the price.

On the odd occasion where your designer spec’s a bog standard Fiat / Maserati part - word gets out so people buy even less of your spares. Leading to more years of overhead going on the price.

That’s where Ferrari gets its pricing from.

Tooling, design costs, safety testing, etc etc all amortised over a tiny amount of cars.
