    Default Thatcham Tracker advice please

    Hi All

I am looking into options for having a Thatcham Cat-5 tracker fitted to a 328 - so am keen to get some advice, recommendations etc. from other owners who have also had trackers fitted onto their 'older' cars.

Looking forward to reading your feedback and to getting your advice.

    Many thanks in advance!

Is this a requirement from your insurance company or your own personnel piece of mind? If the latter I know people have left old iphones in the car and use "Find My"

(As soon as I found out my insurance company doesn't require alarm/immobiliser/tracker I ripped the lot out. Personally I find them nothing but hassle.)

I had been told by the insurance broker that I should have tracker fitted - they said it's two-fold as i) it would allow them to source more quotes from insurance companies ii) it would reduce the premium.

However, they have since come back to say that it makes no difference to either i) and ii) - so I'm with you in that I would rather not have one tucked away in the car draining the battery even while it sits plugged into the battery-conditioner in the garage - this happens with my other car, so I have resorted to disconnecting the battery instead while its on the conditioner..
