Although not legally required I took my 308 in for MOT last week but the first use of the indicators showed that they were not working, in either direction. which they were last drive 2 weeks ago.
The garage (not Ferrari specialists but they have done a lot of work on this car over the years)...
I have decided to put my 1983 308QV GTS up for sale.
The only time I have sold such a car previously I did it as a px for my 550 but this time thats not the plan. My concern with advertising this type of car are the idiots who think they can get a free glory trip out in a Ferrari, time wasting...
Hit a bump in the road very hard recently and since then have had an intermittent problem selecting 1st gear.
The lever goes in no problem but on lifting the clutch pedal sometimes there's nothing there.
Any thoughts on what has been damaged?
Ive owned this for just under 6 years during which time it has had a full bare metal respray, G-Techniq ceramic coating (9 year warranty), and re-connolised interior. The service and ownership history is from new and due to a malfunction with one of the ECUs last year has just had a change to...
My 308QV has twin Magneti Marelli MED-803A ignition units part number 64834080 (Ferrari part no 118451) and one appears to be faulty.
Now on checking neither Maranello Classic Parts Or Superformance have these instock and it’s looking like these are hens teeth items so I may be left with...
Brought the 308 up to my daughter in Scotland end of last week. Very near the end of the journey started with a bad misfire and considerable lack of power. Took it the the local garage, that looks after my daughters family motors, and to cut the story short have advised that one distributor cap...
Had a local lad enquire if he could take some photos of my car for a portfolio he is putting together.
these are what I took on the iPhone so expect his will be rather better.
Took these on my recent Maranello trip and all appear to be Hybrids, except perhaps the one in the last photo. This is quite clearly a non-road legal track car emerging from the factory on the road. Only in Maranello.....
Im sure this will have been the subject of past threads but I would be grateful for your recommendations please.
My 308 has had a lot of money spent on it over the last 3 years but the windows, which have not been touched, are desperately slow.
I realise that I probably need to check how many...
My 308 has recently returned from a long lay up (for a respray) and I now have a noise which sounds like it is a bearing on its last legs, metal on metal binding. Not loud but there in the background. If I depress the clutch pedal it disappears.
Any thoughts lease?
I bought my 550 with 26000 on the clock nearly 10 years ago and as a condition of the sale I insisted that the dropped windows were repaired. Now with over 68000 completed they are again dropping, indeed I will soon be able to get in and out of the car without opening the doors. This is neither...
My 308 is nearing the end of its bodywork restoration and I have been advised to have the car ceramic coated. I know little about ceramic coating other than the promises of an ultra hard shiny finish which will last up to 5 years.
And it’s costs a lot.....
A few questions then:
Are the...
My 1983 308 GTS/Q.V. came with the notoriously expensive metric TRX wheel & tyre combo. The tyres are now in need of replacing which at Superformance prices will be £1310, frankly ridiculous. A set of Speedline 16” wheels with modern Continental tyres is £1504 at Superformance, and at Tyre Save...
As a follow up to Yorkshirelads post on having his 348 about to published in a classic car mag who else has had a car featured in a magazine or book?
My bragging rights come via both the 308's that I have owned. The current GTS featured inside and on the front cover of 'Classic cars' in Dec...
