Scottish Ferrari Specialist?

Out_of_Sync

New member
I bought my F355 a few weeks ago and it's going to live at home in the Scottish borders (between Berwick and Kelso), even though I spend most of my time working in London :cry3:

Can anyone recommend a good specialist up there to look after the car as and when it needs servicing/repairs? Maybe Edinburgh's my best bet.

Also, the car was not as well loved as it might have been over its life and would benefit from a good once over and the odd stitch in time...

Do you guys think that I would be best to do this at Ferrari's place off the North Circular (where I met some of the mechanics on Saturday and they were (a) really friendly and nice and (b) helped me out with a minor issue at no cost, so I'd not be averse to repaying the kindness), or to wait and get it done oop north (where, one assumes, it would be cheaper)?

Any advice/ideas more than welcome.

Ferrari's place off the North Circular

I'm guessing you mean HROwen's Ferrari Service Centre - up North there's only Graypaul in Edinburgh or a couple of independents a little farther away as far as I know

I would guess most 355 are no longer looked after by franchise dealers - inlcuding probably yours in its previous ownerships

Main options are:

Graypaul Ferrari in Edinburgh.
Never used them for servicing and I expect they will be pricey but then that's no real surprise.

PK Supercars (just outside Edinburgh) http://www.pksupercars.com/
I have used them for the past 3 years with my 360 Spider.
Well respected and well known independent specialists who take care of a number of cars that I know of.
They attend a number of meets and always are on hand to offer advice by phone etc

Top-Gear Cars near Bathgate (http://www.topgear-cars.co.uk/topgear-cars.php)
Carlo is very well known in Lamborghini circles and deals in all sorts of exotica.
He serviced my F355 for the 3 years I owned it and also looks after a number of cars I know of.
He also attends most meets and is always helpful and on hand by phone to offer advice.

There may well be other "non specialist" places also.

I used them for my cambelt ... Carlo the owner is a top guy! Very professional, reasonably priced and very good work. Carlo was always happy to give advice and is a wealth of knowledge. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Ferrari specialist, edinburgh

Just jumping on your thread to let you know of a new independent Ferrari specialist in Edinburgh. It’s run by Paul Buchanan, who has just left the main dealer. I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my car, even when it was in at Graypaul. He’s, in my humble opinion, the most knowledgeable and down to earth guy. If you are still searching for an independent specialist, I’m sure he would be able to help you out! I stumbled across his move from the main dealer on instragram - the_supercar_tech.

Cheers

Another for Stewart Roden, been around for years, probably when the 355 was new...

One of his drivers took me round Oulton Park in pre-Le Mans testing of their 360LM. Still gives me brown trouser recollections now...
