TCU replacement

360 F1

New member

Hello... My car has the first TCU 176552. I have purchased the second last revision to install 197533. I have a Thindiag 2 on order to read and alter the TCU settings. I know that I cannot alter settings on my existing TCU. Is it a case of read existing clutch closed position and transfer to new TCU then set the PIS... Thanks, Alan

It’s not that simple.
You need the “new clutch closed position” from your current TCU for the new one but you also have to complete the gearbox self learns otherwise the gear positions won’t be correct.
I’d take it to a competent tech and get them to change it. It’s not a long job but needs to be done properly.
Speaking on a limb…. My car drove better for 90% of the time on the 176552 TCU after the auto set-up procedure than it did with a CS TCU. The CS TCU was better when you were on it….

Hello Mike, Thank you for your reply and points noted. I currently have the 1st issue TCU. This should be a great improvement. On another note...360's are apparently prone to F1 pump burn out through relay failure. Aldous voice has a section on a new 50A relay but this requires a new relay base, a base rewire & crimp, and a hand made bracket. On Ferrari Chat there are 2 upgrades recommended, both plug in, both sold mostly as BMW parts. Original - Tyco V23134-B57-X203: Ferrari Part Number 155437 welds closed eventually Tyco V23134-B57-X152: BMW Part Number 6136-1-393-403 better...but
Tyco V23134-B57-X266: BMW Part Number 6136-8-366-646
Highly recommended. It was extremely difficult to find. I bought one today (uk) and don't know how many in stock. If you would like the details let me know. Thanks again. Alan

Alan,
I changed mine for the 50a version. It’s a simple job. The Ferrari 50a relay was only about a tenner when I did mine. The base I got off eBay.
If you look at my Argento 360 thread it’s in there. My car is long gone now though.
