Where to advertise a Ferrari for sale?

I have decided to put my 1983 308QV GTS up for sale.
The only time I have sold such a car previously I did it as a px for my 550 but this time thats not the plan. My concern with advertising this type of car are the idiots who think they can get a free glory trip out in a Ferrari, time wasting tyre kickers, stupid offers and countless phone calls from people offering to sell it for me. So what do you consider to be the best way to advertise it: Pistonheads & Autotrader are the obvious go to but what about the current craze for online auctions (I already have a company chasing me following a look at their web site). I also have James O'Kane of O'Kane Lavers interested in it from a conversation I had with him a year or so ago. This is a company I did not know of and have never seen advertise but they do handle some lovely stuff.
I would welcome your comments please.
 
All depends how much hassle you want and how quickly you want it sold.

You could try sorn at an indi?

If you want it sold quickly you could try collecting cars. As for physical auctions personally, having done it once, i would never put a car into a physical auction; as if it doesn’t sell you have shipping and potentially storage charges to cover off; and the hassle!

If your in no rush and prepared to deal with the PA of various Nigerian princes, pistonheads or car and classic, the latter being free and a bit more specialist!

never used one of the “brokers” but they never appeal to me… money for old rope springs to mind.

I placed an ad on the Ferrari Owners club site and have sold two cars with no issues. ( I am a club member ) however non members can place ads.

Perhaps goes without saying but if you go down the Sale or Return route be careful which indie you use as others have obviously come a cropper using the wrong one.

Essentially it comes down to the way SoR works - once the dealer has a buyer they in effect buy the car off you and owe you the money, they then sell the car. The problem arises when they have other debts as they are completely entitled to pay off other debtors with the money from the sale of your car and simply owe you the money. In the case I'm thinking about the indie then filed for bankruptcy (again) leaving the owners of cars that had been sold SoR with little or no money from the sale.

Clearly there are some indies you can trust, I'd use Tim at Walkersport with no qualms at all, but having looked into the case above in quite a bit of detail (we ended up embroiled in legal wranglings due to posts made on this site and I was the lucky committee member dealing with the lawyers) I'd be a little careful before going down this route.

Pete is absolutely right. If you go that route do your homework and ask on here.
