Fuel tank capacity
What is exact capacity of the fuel tank? Internet is showing 95l, but I was not able to fill never more than 55-60l (even after fuel pump repair, when the tank was completly empty). After filling those 55-60l the gauge never shows full, it is rather between 3/4 and full. Additionally when the tank gets empty there is a vacume in the tank created.

1. Is it really 95l capacity?
2. is the vacume ok in the tank? or that can be an indication of Fuel Vapour system failure? Any idea how to check if works properly?
3. does your level gauge shows full tank?

Hi mate.

It's certainly more than 55l as I've put far more than that in before. I think mine is actually less than 95l having filled it from absolutely empty after emptying the tank. Mine is a very late TS with most of the updates of the GTB/GTS (updates were made on the production line over a period of time rather than the last TB/TS being one set of specs and the first GTB/GTS being another) and later cars had 88l capacity.

I've never had a problem with filling or anything else fuel related so I'm guessing there's no problem with pressures in the tank or fuel system. I'd have thought that if you do have an airlock if you drive for a time then immediately open the filler cap you might hear a hiss as the pressures equalize. There's probably a better way to check but I'm not sure what it is.

My level gauge works all the way down including the low fuel light coming on although it does drift up and down a fraction when I'm driving.

When I open the fuel tank cap I hear a lot of psssss :P (for me sound like underpressure in the tank). Last time I remember, the cap was very hot and I had difficulties to pen the tank (hot plus pressure). Need to do some excercises, for me that looks like the carbon filter issue, or maybe some one way valve. Need to go deeper during winter.

The cap shouldn't be hot, not sure what could be causing that but if the fuel tank is getting hot that can't be good. Hope you find the cause.

The cap was hot, because I was driving in the parade, about 1,5h full sun (40C) and 5km/h speed.
Today I've checked the "pssst" and there is overpressure in the tank. I think that is caused by the gasoline evaporation. The gasoline evaporate because of the temperature (pumping, engine temperature, gasoline heating up in the fuel rail). I think that is quite normal. What is not normal I think is the pressure inside the tank, there should be some ventilation valve. Need to go that direction.

Yep, I've certainly never had pressure in the tank before. Hope you can track it down (y)

Winter comes, so the car was parked in the garage. There is no budget for available for big work, because of full suspension rebuild for my Porsche 996.

Question about the electric window regulators. I was trying to clean, gease, and the regulator performance is a disaster :D Have you seen any solution for gear change? Have you seen any custom regulators? I saw additional battery fo keep the correct voltage, but dont think that is the best idea.

BTW
I was able to purchase oil temp sensor for a fraction of the ferrari price ~15 Euro

Hi there. I'm not sure where you can get custom accelerators in Europe but Ricambi does them over in the US. Is this what you're after?

From the beginning of owning my Ferrari, after turning the ignition on, I hear clicking noise, after a few seconds the noise gone. Few days ago I decided to track that noise. After remooving the carpet from the front trunk, I found the noise. The noise comes from the small actuator which select air source for HVAC unit (internal or external flow). After opening, I found one gear broken
😞
New actuator costs 350USD. The price can be accepted for a Ferrafi part
😜
but, that is still 350USD for small actuator- no way.
Fortunatelly I was able to design and 3D print missing gear, and.... everything works like new
🙂

There is a lot more like rocker panels, for lights, etc. But not for today :)
Excellent work there.

Thanks, IF that is really only ground of voltage issue I will handle that without spending $120. Need to check that.
+1 to it being a grounding issue. The mounts for the oil tank have rubber insulators on them so you need to run a wire from one of the 4 bolts (actually studs) that hold the lower oil tank filter cover to somewhere on the engine cradle. IIRC this was part of the official improvements in order to give a more accurate reading.

Saying that though the oil temp barely rises off the bottom of the scale as the car takes some time to warm up due to the large oil capacity of the engine. I don't think I ever saw go above the bottom 1/4 in 12 years of ownership.

if the earth doesnt sort it also worth checking a) window track alignment and b) grease in the winder mechanism as that can go hard.

The oil sensor shows 0 Ohm resistance, so I'm quite sure it is broken, the wire continuity is OK. I will chenk the new sensor outside the oil tank just connecting to electric instalation and heat up with heatgun.

window regulator was greased and allign last year. Additionally the door to frame connector was replaced on the driver door, and driver window works much better than passanger, so will start from the ground and power veryfication. The plan is to forst connect the power and ground directly from the battery to the motor to bypass everything, and check how that will work.

Right nowe finalizing winter activities with my Porsche 996 (full suspension replacement) and than will start working on Ferrari.
